Description: The Transit Area that the Virtual Link traverses. By definition, this is not 0.0.0.0

What is ospfVirtIfAreaID?

This identifies the transit area a virtual link traverses, which by definition can never be the backbone area 0.0.0.0 itself. Admins configure this when stitching a disconnected area to the backbone through an intermediate transit area via a virtual link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.9.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RFC1248-MIB::ospfVirtIfAreaID

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.9.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RFC1248-MIB::ospfVirtIfAreaID.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.9.1.1.1 s <value>
