ospfIfMetricMetric

Module: RFC1248-MIB

OID (symbolic): RFC1248-MIB::ospfIfMetricMetric

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.8.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Metric

Access: read-write

Description: The metric of using this type of service on this interface. The default value of the TOS 0 Metric is 10^8 / ifSpeed.

The value FFFF is distinguished to mean 'no route via this TOS'.

What is ospfIfMetricMetric?

This is the OSPF cost this router assigns to using this interface at the given type of service, defaulting to 10^8 / ifSpeed for TOS 0, with the special value FFFF meaning 'no route via this TOS.' Admins manually override this to influence path selection, e.g. raising the metric on a backup link so OSPF prefers the primary path under normal conditions.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.8.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RFC1248-MIB::ospfIfMetricMetric

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.8.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RFC1248-MIB::ospfIfMetricMetric.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.13.8.1.4.1 s <value>
