rcIpConfOspfAuthKey

Module: RC-OSPF-MIB

OID (symbolic): RC-OSPF-MIB::rcIpConfOspfAuthKey

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.8.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: The Authentication Key. If the Area's Authorization Type is simplePassword, and the key length is shorter than 8 octets, the agent will left adjust and zero fill to 8 octets.

Note that unauthenticated interfaces need no authentication key, and simple password authen- tication cannot use a key of more than 8 oc- tets. Larger keys are useful only with authen- tication mechanisms not specified in this docu- ment.

When read, ospfIfAuthKey always returns an Octet String of length zero.

What is rcIpConfOspfAuthKey?

This read-write DisplayString holds the OSPF authentication key for an interface (up to 8 octets, zero-padded and left-adjusted for simplePassword auth); reading it always returns a zero-length string for security. An administrator sets this when configuring simple-password OSPF authentication between neighboring routers on the interface.
