Category: Nortel Enterprise Data, QoS and Traffic Management
Description: Handles Quality of Service policy configuration and traffic classification on Bay Networks Rapid-City 2000 series switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RC-2K-QOS-MIB?
RC-2K-QOS-MIB is a Bay Networks, Rapid-City Group proprietary MIB for the Accelar product family, configuring QoS queue weighting and drop thresholds. Its QoS table, keyed by row/level, records name, admin/operational weight, octapid mode, admin/operational threshold, PID mode, drop-threshold/actual percentages, and a drop-trap-state flag, an ingress-tag-to-QoS table maps IEEE 802.1p priority to a QoS level, an ingress-DS-field-to-QoS table maps DSCP to a QoS level, and an egress-QoS-to-tag table maps back. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm 802.1p/DSCP-to-QoS-level mapping and watch drop-threshold breaches on a Bay Networks (Nortel) Accelar switch. It is deployed on Bay Networks (Nortel) Accelar switch-routers. Engineers can download the RC-2K-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RC-2K-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Bay Networks (Nortel) Accelar switch-routers
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks rc2kQosIngressDsFieldToQosQosLevel and rc2kQosQosDropActualPercentage to confirm DSCP-to-QoS mapping and drop-threshold status on a Bay Networks (Nortel) Accelar switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- QoS level mapping and drop-threshold status
