OID (symbolic): RBN-ATM-PVC-OAM-MIB::rbnAtmPvcOamStatusState
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2352.2.19.1.1.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: The state of the ATM PVC OAM function on a given ATM PVC.
A value of noOam indicates the ATM PVC OAM function is not active on the given ATM PVC
A value of oamUp indicates the ATM PVC OAM function is active on the given ATM PVC and no failure condition is currently being detected on the circuit
A value of oamDownLoopback indicates the ATM PVC OAM function is active on the given ATM PVC and F5 OAM loopback cell management has detected a fault on the circuit
A value of oamDownAis indicates the ATM PVC OAM function is active on the given ATM PVC and a VC-AIS cell was recently received which indicates a fault on the circuit
A value of oamDownRdi indicates the ATM PVC OAM function is active on the given ATM PVC and a VC-RDI cell was recently received which indicates a fault on the circuit
What is rbnAtmPvcOamStatusState?
This value reports the current health state of the ATM OAM (Operations, Administration and Maintenance) function running on a specific PVC, distinguishing between OAM being inactive, actively up with no faults, or down due to a detected loopback failure, an incoming AIS (alarm indication signal) cell, or an incoming RDI (remote defect indication) cell. Administrators watch this object to detect ATM circuit faults in near real time, since each down state points to a different kind of failure. For example, a value of oamDownAis would tell an admin that an upstream device on the circuit has detected a failure and is signaling it downstream via an AIS cell, rather than the fault being local.
