rcRelayDropThreshold

Module: RAISECOM-RELAY-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAISECOM-RELAY-MIB::rcRelayDropThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.35.3.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The drop threshold on an interface for a given protocol. After reaching this drop threshold, the interface will start dropping PDUs for the given protocol. This value cannot be greater than the value of rcRelayShutdownThreshold. A value of 0 indicates that no limit is set.

What is rcRelayDropThreshold?

rcRelayDropThreshold sets the rate, in PDUs per second (0 to 4096), at which an interface starts dropping tunneled PDUs for a given protocol, with 0 meaning no limit and the value capped by rcRelayShutdownThreshold. Admins tune this to rate-limit tunneled control-plane traffic and protect the device from being overwhelmed by excessive BPDU or similar protocol floods on a given interface. For example, setting rcRelayDropThreshold to 100 PDUs/sec means the interface begins discarding that protocol's tunneled frames once the rate exceeds 100 per second.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.35.3.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RAISECOM-RELAY-MIB::rcRelayDropThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.35.3.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RAISECOM-RELAY-MIB::rcRelayDropThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.35.3.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> rcRelayDropThreshold.1
