Description: active - An indication that the route has implication on routing inactive - the route is a backup route or it is down. It is not used in forwarding decision. Down means that the Ip interface on which it is configured is down. (Note: ip interface down may be for two reason - its admin status or the L2 interface , on which the ip interface is configured, status
What is rlInetStaticRouteForwardingStatus?
This read-only object reports whether this static route is active(1), currently used in forwarding decisions, or inactive(2), meaning it's a backup route or down because its associated IP interface (or the underlying L2 interface) is not up. Admins check it to see which of several configured static routes are actually in effect at any given moment, especially when float or backup routes are configured. For example, rlInetStaticRouteForwardingStatus reading inactive(2) on a route tells the admin that route's outgoing interface is currently down, so traffic is not being forwarded via that path.
