curUtil

Module: PROBE-MIB

OID (symbolic): PROBE-MIB::curUtil

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.6.1.5.1.7.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The best estimate of the mean physical layer network utilization on the monitor's physical interface during the previous number of seconds defined by curUtilPeriod for this entry in the table. The units of this object are hundredths of a percent. Its value will normally be in the range (0..10000). A value of all 1's means that a full curUtilPeriod for this entry in the table has not passed since either monitor startup or the last time curUtilPeriod was changed.

For probes which support full-duplex media, this variable should reflect the mean physical layer network utilization for both directions combined. For example, if the two directions of a Fast Ethernet full duplex connection are 90% and 50%, this variable should reflect a value of 70%.

What is curUtil?

Reports the mean physical-layer network utilization on this interface over the last curUtilPeriod seconds, in hundredths of a percent (0-10000); on full-duplex media it reflects both directions combined, e.g. 90% receive and 50% transmit averages to 70%.
