Description: This parameter defines whether the Spanning Tree protocol will be enabled. The unit uses the spanning tree algorithm to decide how to forward frames and how to propagate broadcast packets so that only one copy of a broadcast frame is delivered to each LAN. For transparent bridging, STP ensures that only one active route is used at one time during transparent bridging. For source route bridging, it is used to initialize a single-route broadcast route.
