adslIfAdminStatus

Module: PEA-IF-IPDSLAM

OID (symbolic): PEA-IF-IPDSLAM::adslIfAdminStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.193.72.300.50.1.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The desired state of the interface. The testing(3) state indicates that no operational packets can be passed. When a managed system initializes, all interfaces start with adslIfAdminStatus in the down(2) state. As a result of either explicit management action or per configuration information retained by the managed system, adslIfAdminStatus is then changed to either the up(1) or testing(3) states (or remains in the down(2) state).

What is adslIfAdminStatus?

This read-write enumerated object (up/down/testing) sets the desired administrative state of the DSL interface, starting in down(2) on system initialization. An admin sets this to up(1) to bring a DSL port into service, to down(2) to take it out of service, or to testing(3) to run diagnostics without passing traffic. For example, an admin sets adslIfAdminStatus to down(2) on port 3 before performing a wiring change, then back to up(1) afterward.
