devTrapMgrIpAddress

Module: PDN-TRAPMGR-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-TRAPMGR-MIB::devTrapMgrIpAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.9.3.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-write

Description: Unique IP address identifying a Trap Manager. An

existing Trap Manager may be deleted by setting

the devTrapMgrIpAddress object to 0.0.0.0 or by

setting the devTrapMgrIpAddress object to a new

address. A new Trap Manager may be added by setting

the devTrapMgrIpAddress object of 0.0.0.0 to the new

address as long as there is still room for another

Trap Manager.

What is devTrapMgrIpAddress?

This object holds the unique IP address identifying a trap manager entry; an existing entry can be deleted by setting it to 0.0.0.0 or to a new address, and a new entry can be added by changing an existing 0.0.0.0 (empty) slot to the desired address, as long as table capacity allows. Admins use this object to add, replace, or remove trap-receiver destinations in this device-level trap manager table. For example, an admin adding a new SNMP trap destination would find a free (0.0.0.0) slot and set devTrapMgrIpAddress to their monitoring server's address to register it.
