pdnUnitAssigned

Module: PDN-STACKABLE-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-STACKABLE-MIB::pdnUnitAssigned

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.36.1.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates if the External ID has been assigned to a particular Globally Unique Identifier (GUID).

Writing a false(2) is a mechanism to delete a unit from a stack. When a unit is deleted from a stack, all data that the Stack knows about the unit is purged.

On read operations: true(1) - indicates that the External ID has been assigned to a unit false(2) - indicates that the External ID has not been assigned to a unit

What is pdnUnitAssigned?

This read-write value indicates whether a stack's External ID has been assigned to a specific unit's Globally Unique Identifier (GUID), returning true(1) if assigned and false(2) if not. Writing false(2) is the mechanism for deleting a unit from the stack, purging all data the stack holds about that unit, so an admin uses this to formally remove a decommissioned or replaced unit. For example, when physically removing a failed stack member permanently, the admin sets its pdnUnitAssigned to false(2) to clear its configuration and stack data rather than leaving a stale entry.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.36.1.3.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-STACKABLE-MIB::pdnUnitAssigned

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.36.1.3.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-STACKABLE-MIB::pdnUnitAssigned.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.36.1.3.1.3.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> pdnUnitAssigned.1
