pdnLinkFaultMgmtSwitchoverSelection
Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB
OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFaultMgmtSwitchoverSelection
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object is used to enable or disable the Switchover Due to link failures feature on on this device. This object can not be enabled if the APS feature is enabled.
What is pdnLinkFaultMgmtSwitchoverSelection?
This read-write INTEGER enables or disables the device's own switchover-on-link-failure feature, which cannot be enabled while APS is enabled, since the two features are mutually exclusive protection mechanisms. Admins use this when they want the device itself to fail over to an alternate link based on the LOS/LOF/AIS-L/Sd/Sf thresholds configured elsewhere in this MIB, rather than relying on external APS. For example, an admin without a SONET APS ring available would set pdnLinkFaultMgmtSwitchoverSelection to enabled(1) to activate the local link-failure-driven switchover logic.
