pdnLinkFaultMgmtApsSelection

Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFaultMgmtApsSelection

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to enable or disable the Automatic Protection Switching (Aps) feature on this device. This object can not be enabled if the -Switchover due to link failures- is enabled.

What is pdnLinkFaultMgmtApsSelection?

This read-write INTEGER enables or disables Automatic Protection Switching (APS) on the device, and cannot be set to enabled if link-failure-based switchover is already enabled, since the two mechanisms are mutually exclusive. Admins toggle this to choose APS as the protection scheme for a redundant link pair instead of the device's own link-failure switchover logic. For example, an admin deploying a SONET APS ring would set pdnLinkFaultMgmtApsSelection to enabled(1), which would then block enabling pdnLinkFaultMgmtSwitchoverSelection at the same time.
