pdnLinkFailureSfPeriodBeforeSwitching

Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureSfPeriodBeforeSwitching

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows users to configure the amount of time a Signal Failure Bit (Sf) condition shall exist on this uplink before initiating a switchover.

Switchover due to Sf condition on this uplink will not be valid if any of the APS (Automatic Protection Switching) is enabled.

What is pdnLinkFailureSfPeriodBeforeSwitching?

This read-write Integer32 (0-300 seconds), indexed per interface, sets how long a Signal Failure Bit (Sf) condition — the bit error rate exceeding the threshold in pdnLinkFailureSfBerThreshold — must persist before the device switches to the alternate link, active only when APS is disabled. Admins typically set this shorter than the Sd timer since Sf represents a more severe error condition warranting a faster response. For example, setting pdnLinkFailureSfPeriodBeforeSwitching to 2 seconds ensures the device quickly abandons a link whose error rate has crossed the more severe Sf threshold.
