pdnLinkFailureSdPeriodBeforeSwitching

Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureSdPeriodBeforeSwitching

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows users to configure the amount of time a Signal Degraded (Sd) condition shall exist on this uplink before initiating a switchover.

Switchover due to Sd condition on this uplink will not be valid if any of the APS (Automatic Protection Switching) is enabled.

What is pdnLinkFailureSdPeriodBeforeSwitching?

This read-write Integer32 (0-300 seconds), indexed per interface, sets how long a Signal Degraded (Sd) condition — the bit error rate exceeding the threshold in pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold — must persist before the device switches to the alternate link, active only when APS is disabled. Admins use it to fail over on a gradually worsening line quality rather than waiting for an outright signal failure. For example, a 20-second Sd period tolerates brief error-rate spikes while still switching away from a link whose quality has genuinely degraded.
