pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold

Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows users to configure the threshold for the Signal Degrade Bit Error Rate (Sd).

The negated value of this number is used as the exponent of 10 for computing the threshold value for the Bit Error Rate (BER). For example, a value of 5 indicates a BER threshold of 10^-5.

What is pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold?

This read-write Integer32 (5-9), indexed per interface, sets the exponent used to compute the bit error rate threshold that defines a Signal Degraded condition, where the configured value n yields a BER threshold of 10^-n. Admins tune this to control how sensitive the Sd detection is; a value of 5 (10^-5) is more sensitive than a value of 9 (10^-9). For example, setting pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold to 6 means the link is considered degraded once its bit error rate reaches roughly 1 error per million bits (10^-6).

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureSdBerThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.6.1 i <value>
