pdnLinkFailureLOSPeriodBeforeSwitching
Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB
OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureLOSPeriodBeforeSwitching
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: This object allows users to configure the amount of time a LOS condition shall exist on this uplink before initiating a switchover.
Switchover due to LOS condition on this uplink will not be valid if any of the APS (Automatic Protection Switching) is enabled.
What is pdnLinkFailureLOSPeriodBeforeSwitching?
This read-write Integer32 (0-300 seconds), indexed per interface, sets how long a Loss of Signal (LOS) condition must persist on the primary uplink before the device initiates a switchover to the alternate link; it only takes effect when APS is not enabled. Admins tune this to balance fast failover against false-positive switching caused by brief signal glitches. For example, setting pdnLinkFailureLOSPeriodBeforeSwitching to 5 seconds on a critical uplink triggers a fast failover, while a longer value like 30 seconds tolerates brief signal dropouts without switching.
