pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching

Module: PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: This object allows users to configure the amount of time a AIS-L condition shall exist on this uplink before initiating a switchover.

Switchover due to AIS-L condition on this uplink will not be valid if any of the APS (Automatic Protection Switching) is enabled.

What is pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching?

This read-write Integer32 (0-300 seconds), indexed per interface, sets how long an incoming line AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) condition must persist on the primary uplink before the device switches to the alternate link, and is only effective when APS is not enabled. Admins use it to decide how quickly the device reacts to an upstream carrier-reported line failure signaled via AIS. For example, setting pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching to 3 seconds causes a rapid failover as soon as the carrier signals a sustained AIS-L condition.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-LINK-FAULT-MGMT-MIB::pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.40.1.1.3.1.3.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> pdnLinkFailureAISLPeriodBeforeSwitching.1
