pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil

Module: PDN-ATMEXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The bandwidth utilization for realtime vbr type traffic expressed as a percentage.

What is pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil?

This read-write integer, expressed as a percentage from 0 to 9999, configures the bandwidth utilization allowed for realtime VBR (variable bit rate) traffic on an ATM interface. Admins tune this to control how much of the interface's capacity realtime VBR connections can consume relative to other traffic classes. For example, setting this to 3000 (representing 30.00% with two implied decimal places) would cap realtime VBR traffic at that share of the interface's total bandwidth.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.1.1 i <value>

Start monitoring Paradyne ATM/DSL access equipment (VC bandwidth/HEC threshold extensions) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any Paradyne ATM/DSL access equipment (VC bandwidth/HEC threshold extensions) from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select a Paradyne ATM/DSL access equipment (VC bandwidth/HEC threshold extensions) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type pdnAtmIfConfExtVbrRtBandwidthUtil into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The bandwidth utilization for realtime vbr type traffic expressed as a percentage. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if utilization approaches its capacity limit, since sustained high utilization often precedes congestion or degraded performance. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
