pdnAtmIfConfExtHecErrorThreshold

Module: PDN-ATMEXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtHecErrorThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The value of this object represents the threshold value for the number of uncrorrectable HEC errors in a 15 minutes interval. An SNMP link Up/Down trap would be generated if the number of uncorrectable HEC errors in a 15 minutes interval exceeds this threshold. The valid range of this object is 0 to 1000. A value of 0 will cause a trap to be sent on each occurrence of a HEC error. A value of -9999 disables the threshold check. The default value for this object is 100.

What is pdnAtmIfConfExtHecErrorThreshold?

This read-write integer sets the number of uncorrectable Header Error Control (HEC) errors allowed within a 15-minute interval before the switch sends an SNMP link Up/Down trap, with a default of 100, 0 meaning trap on every error, and -9999 disabling the check entirely. Admins tune this to control sensitivity to physical-layer cell errors on the ATM link. For example, lowering this from the default 100 to 20 would make the switch alert much sooner on a degrading ATM physical link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtHecErrorThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-ATMEXT-MIB::pdnAtmIfConfExtHecErrorThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.11.5.1.1.1.3.1 i <value>
