portLocalCarrierDetect

Module: PANDATEL-FME-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-FME-MODEM-MIB::portLocalCarrierDetect

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.601.2.1.60

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The data carrier detect mode at the interface: if set to 'fo-link-and-remote-handshake' the DCD signal (resp. I for X.21, etc.) follows link status and remote RTS (resp. C for X.21, etc.), if set to 'fo-link' the DCD signal follows link status only. Not available for units with G.703 onboard.

What is portLocalCarrierDetect?

This sets how the port's data carrier detect signal behaves: following both the fiber link status and the remote end's handshake signal, or following only the fiber link status. An admin chooses the combined mode to have carrier detect reflect the full end-to-end handshake state, or the link-only mode to have it reflect only local fiber connectivity, and the setting isn't available on units with onboard G.703. For example, setting this to fo-link-and-remote-handshake ensures the connected DTE only sees carrier detect asserted when the remote device has also raised its RTS.
