mdmLocalCarrierDetect2

Module: PANDATEL-BMP-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-BMP-MODEM-MIB::mdmLocalCarrierDetect2

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.301.1.1.61

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The data carrier detect mode 2 at the interface: if set to 'fo-link-and-remote-handshake' the DSR signal follows link status and remote RTS (resp. C for X.21, etc.), if set to 'fo-link' the DSR signal follows link status only.

What is mdmLocalCarrierDetect2?

This value sets a second data carrier detect behavior, controlling the DSR signal at the interface: fo-link-and-remote-handshake(2) makes DSR follow both link status and the remote RTS/C signal, while fo-link(3) makes it follow link status alone (with other(1) as a fallback). An admin uses this alongside mdmLocalCarrierDetect1 when the connected DTE equipment relies on DSR, separately from DCD, to reflect either just link status or the remote handshake state as well. Setting mdmLocalCarrierDetect2 to fo-link-and-remote-handshake(2) means DSR will only assert once both the link is up and the remote side's RTS/C signal is active.
