mdmLocalCarrierDetect1

Module: PANDATEL-BMP-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-BMP-MODEM-MIB::mdmLocalCarrierDetect1

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.301.1.1.60

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The data carrier detect mode at the interface: if set to 'fo-link-and-remote-handshake' the DCD signal (resp. I for X.21, etc.) follows link status and remote RTS (resp. C for X.21, etc.), if set to 'fo-link' the DCD signal follows link status only.

What is mdmLocalCarrierDetect1?

This value sets the data carrier detect (DCD) behavior at the interface: fo-link-and-remote-handshake(2) makes the DCD signal follow both link status and the remote RTS/C signal, while fo-link(3) makes it follow link status alone (with other(1) as a fallback). An admin chooses fo-link-and-remote-handshake(2) when the connected DTE equipment needs DCD to also reflect the remote side's handshake state, not just whether the link itself is up. Setting mdmLocalCarrierDetect1 to fo-link(3) means DCD will assert as soon as the link comes up, regardless of the remote device's RTS state.
