Description: Manages outbound Telnet session initiation and connection parameters on Quanta (QCI) network switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB?
OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB is a private enterprise MIB from Quanta Computer (QCI) for managing outbound Telnet session initiation from a network switch's management interface, letting administrators trigger and configure Telnet connections to remote hosts directly from the switch. As a private, narrowly scoped module its exposed data centers on session/connection parameters (destination address, port, session state) rather than broad device telemetry. Its monitoring relevance is limited to software/service status of the outbound Telnet feature itself — whether a session is active, its target, and its connection outcome — rather than general hardware health. No dependency on other standard MIBs is evident beyond basic SNMPv2-SMI conventions, and it functions as a standalone management convenience feature. It would be deployed on Quanta-based network switches where administrators use SNMP tooling to remotely initiate diagnostic Telnet sessions from the switch itself. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OUTBOUNDTELNET-PRIVATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Quanta (QCI) network switch
Monitoring Examples
No sample runtime objects were available for this module, so a concrete object-level monitoring scenario cannot be grounded; conceptually, an administrator would use this MIB's outbound Telnet control objects to trigger a session from the switch to a remote host and check the resulting connection state to confirm reachability during remote troubleshooting.
