Category: Legacy Cisco IOS

Description: Provides legacy Cisco IOS Flash memory file system and device status objects from early Cisco IOS versions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is OLD-CISCO-FLASH-MIB?

OLD-CISCO-FLASH-MIB is a legacy Cisco Systems proprietary MIB (predecessor to CISCO-FLASH-MIB) reporting onboard Flash memory status. Its objects cover total/free Flash size, controller/card/VPP identifiers, an erase action/time/status, netload-to-Flash and Flash-to-network transfer actions/times/statuses, overall Flash status, entry count, and a legacy Flash-directory table (name, size, status). As a status MIB it lets an administrator confirm Flash-space usage and copy-operation status on an older Cisco IOS device. It is deployed on legacy Cisco Systems network equipment (Flash memory). Engineers can download the OLD-CISCO-FLASH-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OLD-CISCO-FLASH-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy Cisco Systems network equipment (Flash memory)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks flashFree and flashToNetStatus to confirm Flash-space usage and a config-copy operation's progress on an older Cisco IOS device.
