lanBlazer7000L2AddrSummary

Module: ODSLANBlazer7000-MIB

OID (symbolic): ODSLANBlazer7000-MIB::lanBlazer7000L2AddrSummary

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.50.8.1.2.1.5.1.4.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The value of this object is a packed opaque structure representing an array of address entries. The format of this structure is:

struct L2AddressEntry { UNS32 index; UNS8 addr[6]; // mac address UNS8 fabricPort; //fabricPort and subPort == lanBlazer7000L2AddressPortBinding UNS8 subPort; UNS16 vlanID, //the global vlan id UNS8 portBindingValidFlag; UNS8 addressForwardFlag; UNS8 addressCopyFlag; UNS8 addressPersistence; UNS8 addressStatus; };

struct L2AddressSummary{ UNS8 numberOfEntries; // Number of entries that follow UNS8 version; // version == 1 UNS16 endianFlag; L2AddressEntry entryArray[numberOfEntries]; };

What is lanBlazer7000L2AddrSummary?

Returns the entire MAC forwarding table (or a large slice of it) as one packed binary blob of up to 4096 bytes, containing a header (entry count, structure version, endianness flag) followed by an array of fixed-size address-entry records — each with the MAC, fabric/sub-port binding, VLAN ID, and the validity/forward/copy/persistence/status flags also exposed individually elsewhere in this table. Management applications use this bulk-transfer object to retrieve the whole address table in a handful of SNMP gets instead of walking thousands of individual rows one at a time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.50.8.1.2.1.5.1.4.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ODSLANBlazer7000-MIB::lanBlazer7000L2AddrSummary

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.50.8.1.2.1.5.1.4.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ODSLANBlazer7000-MIB::lanBlazer7000L2AddrSummary.1
