What Is OCCAM-REG-MODULE?
OCCAM-REG-MODULE is a vendor-private registration MIB from Occam Networks that defines the OID assignments for the company's DSL access and broadband platform hardware and software modules. It contains no managed objects or tables of its own; it solely allocates and organizes the object identifier sub-trees under which Occam's functional MIBs (covering line cards, DSL ports, and system management) register their definitions. Setting up OCCAM-REG-MODULE SNMP support in a management tool mainly means loading this registration tree so that the companion DSL line-card and port MIBs resolve their OIDs correctly. Consequently it plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; that responsibility belongs to the companion Occam MIB modules that build on this registration tree, which would cover things like DSL line status and card inventory. It depends on the enterprise SMI numbering authority and is a structural prerequisite for the rest of the Occam Networks MIB suite. It is loaded as a namespace dependency when deploying management tooling for Occam Networks DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM) platforms.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OCCAM-REG-MODULE. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Occam Networks DSL access platform (DSLAM)
Monitoring Examples
This module allocates only OID registration points for Occam Networks hardware and software modules and defines no runtime tables or notifications, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe here. The actual DSL port and card status objects live in the functional MIBs that register beneath this tree. Administrators would not poll this module directly.
