Description: The state of the monitored host, initially set to active(1). If an active(1) host has not transmitted for rpHostMonitorControlTimeout minutes then the state changes to inactive(2). If an inactive(2) host transmits the state changes to active(1).
What is rpHostMonitorActivity?
This read-only value reports whether a monitored host is currently active(1) or inactive(2); a host starts active and flips to inactive if it hasn't transmitted within rpHostMonitorControlTimeout minutes, flipping back to active the moment it transmits again. Admins watch this alongside the rpHostActive/rpHostInactive traps to track host uptime on the segment.
