Description: This attribute gives the total count of packets this Vns component was expected to transmit, but had to discard. (For example, VNS packets may be discarded because there is no route to the given destination.) Packets counted here are not counted in totalTxPkts. The counter wraps around to zero when the maximum value is reached.
What is rtgVnsTotalTxDiscPkts?
This gives the combined unicast-plus-multicast total count of packets this Vns component was expected to transmit but had to discard, and these are not counted in rtgVnsTotalTxPkts. An admin watches this combined discard counter as a quick overall health check before drilling into the separate unicast/multicast discard counters.
