rtgVnsNodeMetric

Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VnsMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VnsMIB::rtgVnsNodeMetric

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.40.3.2.10.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The minimum metric, for the throughput Class of Service (COS), to the destination Node. The metric associated with a path is computed by the routing system based on the sum of the COS metrics associated with the links in the path to the destination. A path with a lower metric value is preferable to one with a higher value as it is associated with the best COS attribute facilities. The metric displayed is that of the best path(s).

A metric value of 2147483647 means the Node is unreachable. A value of 0 indicates that no cost is associated with the path to the destination. This would be the case for the local node's Id.

What is rtgVnsNodeMetric?

This is intended to report the minimum throughput-class-of-service metric to a destination node reachable in the logical network, where 2147483647 means unreachable and 0 means no cost (as for the local node); the MIB marks this table's subtree as currently not implemented. An admin should not rely on this object for live per-node routing metrics given the not-implemented status noted in the source MIB.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.40.3.2.10.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VnsMIB::rtgVnsNodeMetric

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.40.3.2.10.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VnsMIB::rtgVnsNodeMetric.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> rtgVnsNodeMetric.1
