OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-TdmaIwfMIB::tdmaBcV42LocalBusyIndications

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute counts the total number of times the IWF V.42 enters in a busy condition and asks the peer to stop sending information frames until it has cleared up from the busy condition. The V.42 enters busy condition when its data buffer is about to be overflowed by the incoming Information (I) frames. The counter wraps when it exceeds the maximum value.

What is tdmaBcV42LocalBusyIndications?

A Counter32 of how many times the IWF's V.42 layer has itself entered a busy condition and asked its peer to pause sending -- triggered when its own data buffer is close to overflowing from incoming I-frames. It wraps on overflow; frequent local-busy events suggest the IWF side (or whatever's consuming its data locally) can't keep up.
