What Is NTWS-AP-TC?

NTWS-AP-TC is a Nortel Networks textual-conventions module defining shared enumerated types - access point (AP) operational state, radio type, and frequency band - used across Nortel's NTWS wireless-switch family of MIBs, which manage centralized Access Controllers (wireless switches/controllers) and the thin Access Points they control. As a TC-only module it defines no pollable objects itself and therefore carries no direct interface, environment, or performance data. Its purpose is to standardize how the Access Controller's data MIBs represent each AP's hardware/radio state - such as whether an AP's radio is up, its frequency band, or its connection state to the controller - enabling consistent AP status monitoring across those modules. It is a required type dependency for the broader Nortel NTWS wireless MIB suite covering AP inventory, radio, and client data, and engineers consulting the NTWS-AP-TC reference will find only these enumerated types rather than pollable status objects. It is deployed in enterprise WLAN environments using legacy Nortel/Avaya wireless switch (Access Controller) and thin-AP architecture.
