What is commonBackoffPeriod?
The base backoff time slot, in milliseconds, used by the MAC-layer backoff algorithm, defaulting to 6ms and stored in non-volatile memory, per the MIB's own description. Admins tune this as part of contention-resolution timing on the shared upstream RF channel.
