lldpTxDelay

Module: NMS-LLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NMS-LLDP-MIB::lldpTxDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11606.10.127.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The lldpTxDelay indicates the delay (in units of seconds) between successive LLDP frame transmissions initiated by value/status changes in the LLDP local systems MIB. The recommended value for the lldpTxDelay is set by the following formula:

1 <= lldpTxDelay <= (0.25 * lldpMessageTxInterval)

The default value for lldpTxDelay object is two seconds.

The value of this object must be restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is lldpTxDelay?

The minimum delay, in seconds (1-8192, default 2), between successive LLDP frame transmissions triggered by changes in the local system MIB, recommended to be between 1 second and a quarter of lldpMessageTxInterval. It prevents a burst of local changes from flooding neighbors with back-to-back LLDP updates.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11606.10.127.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NMS-LLDP-MIB::lldpTxDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11606.10.127.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NMS-LLDP-MIB::lldpTxDelay.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11606.10.127.1.1.4.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lldpTxDelay.1
