lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier

Module: NMS-LLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NMS-LLDP-MIB::lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11606.10.127.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The time-to-live value expressed as a multiple of the lldpMessageTxInterval object. The actual time-to-live value used in LLDP frames, transmitted on behalf of this LLDP agent, can be expressed by the following formula: TTL = min(65535, (lldpMessageTxInterval * lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier)) For example, if the value of lldpMessageTxInterval is '30', and the value of lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier is '4', then the value '120' is encoded in the TTL field in the LLDP header.

The default value for lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier object is 4.

The value of this object must be restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is lldpMessageTxHoldMultiplier?

A multiplier (2-10, default 4) applied to lldpMessageTxInterval to compute the time-to-live encoded in transmitted LLDP frames, via TTL = min(65535, interval * multiplier). For example, an interval of 30 with a multiplier of 4 encodes a TTL of 120 seconds, telling neighbors how long to keep this system's advertised information before aging it out.
