natv2InstanceAddressMapEntryLimitDrops

Module: NATV2-MIB

OID (symbolic): NATV2-MIB::natv2InstanceAddressMapEntryLimitDrops

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.234.2.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: The cumulative number of packets dropped rather than translated because the packet would have triggered the creation of a new address map entry, but the limit on number of address map entries for the NAT instance given by natv2InstanceLimitAddressMapEntries has already been reached.

This value MUST be monotone increasing in the periods between updates of the entity's natv2InstanceDiscontinuityTime. If a manager detects a change in the latter since the last time it sampled this counter, it SHOULD NOT make use of the difference between the latest value of the counter and any value retrieved before the new value of natv2InstanceDiscontinuityTime.

What is natv2InstanceAddressMapEntryLimitDrops?

A cumulative count of packets dropped because a new address-map entry was needed but the instance-wide cap set by natv2InstanceLimitAddressMapEntries had already been reached; a rising count here, as opposed to the pool- or subscriber-level drop counters, points specifically at the instance's overall map-entry ceiling being undersized.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.234.2.1.1.12
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NATV2-MIB::natv2InstanceAddressMapEntryLimitDrops

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.234.2.1.1.12.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NATV2-MIB::natv2InstanceAddressMapEntryLimitDrops.1
