This metric is used to discriminate between multiple exit points to an adjacent autonomous system. A value of -1 indicates the absence of this attribute.

What is mplsVpnVrfBgpPAtrMultiExitDisc?

This metric stores the Multi-Exit Discriminator (MED) value that influences which exit point BGP chooses when multiple paths to another autonomous system exist. A value of -1 means this attribute was not advertised; other values tell the router how much to prefer one exit over others. An operator tuning inter-AS traffic flow would adjust this value to steer traffic through a preferred border router.
