Description: The canonical name assigned to the tunnel. This name can be used to refer to the tunnel on the LSR's console port. If mplsTunnelIsIf is set to true then the ifName of the interface corresponding to this tunnel should have a value equal to mplsTunnelName. Also see the description of ifName in RFC 2863.
What is mplsTunnelName?
The canonical name assigned to this MPLS tunnel, used to reference it on the LSR's console; if the tunnel is also represented as an interface, ifName should match this value. An admin sets this to a meaningful label (e.g. identifying the remote site) to make the tunnel recognizable in CLI and SNMP output alike.
