Description: Provides BATM Advanced Communication MPLS textual convention extensions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MPLS-TC-PRIV-STDEXT-MIB?

MPLS-TC-PRIV-STDEXT-MIB is a vendor-specific (BATM Advanced Communication) extension of the IETF MPLS textual-convention MIB originally published as RFC 3811, defining additional TEXTUAL-CONVENTION type definitions used across other MPLS-related MIBs in BATM's product line. It belongs to the MPLS networking technology area, specifically the private extension of shared MPLS terminology and data types. As a textual-convention-only module it does not define any object instances, tables, counters, or traps of its own to poll for live status. Its role is purely to supply reusable data type definitions that other, runtime MPLS MIBs from BATM reference; it explicitly depends on and extends the IETF RFC 3811 MPLS-TC-MIB. It would be found alongside BATM's other MPLS MIBs on BATM Advanced Communication MPLS-capable equipment purely as a compile-time dependency, not something monitored directly. Engineers can download the MPLS-TC-PRIV-STDEXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MPLS-TC-PRIV-STDEXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • BATM Advanced Communication MPLS-capable network equipment (switch/router)
  • not independently polled — supporting textual-convention module only

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only TEXTUAL-CONVENTIONs (custom data types) for MPLS concepts and contains no runtime object instances of its own to monitor — sample_objects was empty, consistent with it being a pure type-definition module. Other BATM MPLS MIBs that import these textual conventions would be the ones actually polled for live MPLS state. It should be treated as a supporting dependency module rather than a data source.
