mplsOutSegmentDown
Module: MPLS-LSR-MIB
OID (symbolic): MPLS-LSR-MIB::mplsOutSegmentDown
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.3.96.2.4
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
This notification is generated when a mplsOutSegmentOperStatus object for one of the configured out-segments is about to enter the down
state from some other state (but not from the notPresent state). This other state is indicated by the included value of mplsOutSegmentOperStatus.
What is mplsOutSegmentDown?
This notification is triggered when an outgoing MPLS Label Switched Path (LSP) segment transitions from an operational state to a down state. An operator receiving this trap would investigate the cause of the path failure and initiate recovery procedures such as traffic rerouting or segment restoration.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' MPLS-LSR-MIB::mplsOutSegmentDown snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.3.96.2.4
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
