Category: Security

Description: Defines MICOM packet filter rules and access control list entries.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MICOMFLTR?

MICOMFLTR is a legacy Micom (built on MICOM-OSCAR-MIB) proprietary MIB configuring MAC/network filters for IPX and NVM (NetView?) traffic on router-attached areas (marked obsolete in the source file). Its MAC-filter table, keyed by system instance/ID, records status, source/destination address and mask, port, and direction; a network-filter table records net number, SAP type, net/SAP mask, port, and direction; and parallel NVM-prefixed tables mirror the same structure for NVM filtering. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which MAC/network filters are applied per router area on this legacy Micom device. It is deployed on legacy Micom routing equipment (obsolete IPX/NVM filtering). Engineers can download the MICOMFLTR file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MICOMFLTR. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy Micom routing equipment (obsolete IPX/NVM filtering)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks mcmipxMacFltrSrcAddress and mcmipxMacFltrDir to confirm a configured MAC filter's match criteria on this legacy Micom device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IPX/NVM MAC and network filter configuration
