This is the MST region's configuration name (up to 31 characters), one of the values (along with revision and VLAN-to-instance mapping) that must match exactly across switches for them to be considered part of the same MST region. An admin building a multi-switch MST region would set this identically on every member switch, since even a small mismatch here splits switches into separate regions with different root bridges.
