Module: ME1200-IPMC-MVR-MIB
OID (symbolic): ME1200-IPMC-MVR-MIB::me1200IpmcMvrVlanPortRole
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.815.1.68.1.2.5.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: ME1200IpmcMvrVlanInterfacePortRole
Access: read-write
Description: Configure a MVR port of the designated MVR VLAN as one of the following roles: Inactive, Source or Receiver. An inactive port does not participate MVR operations. Configure uplink ports that receive and send multicast data as a source port, and multicast subscribers cannot be directly connected to source ports. Configure a port as a receiver port if it is a subscriber port and should only receive multicast data, and a receiver port does not receive data unless it becomes a member of the multicast group by issuing IGMP/MLD control messages. Be Caution: MVR source ports are not recommended to be overlapped with management VLAN ports.
What is me1200IpmcMvrVlanPortRole?
This assigns a physical port's role within a specific MVR VLAN: inactive (not participating in MVR), source (an uplink port that both sends and receives multicast data, and should never have subscribers directly attached), or receiver (a subscriber port that only receives multicast data it has joined via IGMP/MLD). Admins configure this per port, taking care not to overlap MVR source ports with the switch's management VLAN ports.
