rlLbdPortOperStatus

Module: MARVELL-LBD-MIB

OID (symbolic): MARVELL-LBD-MIB::rlLbdPortOperStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.89.127.4.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates Loopback Detection operational status on port. 'inactive' means that the port is not working in loop-detected operational state; 'active' means that the port is Up and working in state of loop-detecting; 'loop-detected' means that the system has detected loop on the port.

What is rlLbdPortOperStatus?

This read-only value reports the current operational state of loopback detection on a port: inactive if it isn't actively monitoring, active if it's up and watching for a loop, or loopDetected if the switch has actually identified a cabling loop on that specific port. An administrator checks this after enabling detection to confirm the feature is truly running, and treats a loopDetected reading as an actionable alert that a miswired cable needs to be physically located and corrected. For example, a port reporting loopDetected would typically also be automatically shut down or have its traffic blocked by the switch to prevent that loop from causing a broadcast storm across the rest of the network.
