lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress

Module: LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB

OID (symbolic): LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB::lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.13.1.5.32962.7.2.1.1.3.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: MacAddress

Access: read-only

Description: This object contains the MAC address to be used for the Port Extension Control and Status Protocol.

What is lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress?

This read-only MacAddress gives the MAC address a remote Port Extender uses for the Port Extension Control and Status Protocol (CSP), as learned via LLDP from a neighboring device. Because CSP is the channel that carries extender port-status and control messages in an IEEE 802.1BR cascade, an admin needs this address to verify the control-plane path between a controlling bridge and its extenders is correctly identified, separate from the extender's regular data-plane lldpXdot1PeRemPEAddress. For example, a network tool might show 00:1B:44:22:5C:01 as the CSP address for an extender on port Gi1/0/24, distinct from that same extender's identifying MAC. It shares the same remote-table index (lldpV2RemTimeMark, lldpV2RemLocalIfIndex, lldpV2RemLocalDestMACAddress, lldpV2RemIndex) as its sibling remote Port Extension objects.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.13.1.5.32962.7.2.1.1.3.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB::lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.13.1.5.32962.7.2.1.1.3.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB::lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lldpXdot1PeRemPECSPAddress.1
