lldpXdot1PeConfigPortExtensionTxEnable

Module: LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB

OID (symbolic): LLDP-EXT-DOT1-PE-MIB::lldpXdot1PeConfigPortExtensionTxEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.13.1.5.32962.7.2.1.1.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The lldpXdot1PeConfigPortExtensionTxEnable, which is defined as a truth value and configured by the network management, determines whether the IEEE 802.1 organizationally defined Port Extension TLV transmission is allowed on a given LLDP transmission capable port. The value of this object must be restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is lldpXdot1PeConfigPortExtensionTxEnable?

This object determines whether the IEEE 802.1 Port Extension organizationally-specific LLDP TLV is transmitted on a given port, defaulting to true, and its configured value must persist across a device reinitialization. An admin sets this to true on ports connecting to Port Extenders so LLDP correctly advertises cascade priority and control-protocol addressing to the extender, or false to suppress that TLV on ports where it isn't needed. For example, disabling this on an uplink port not connected to a Port Extender avoids sending irrelevant Port Extension TLVs to that neighbor.
