Module: LANPLEX-SYSTEMS-MIB-1-2-2

OID (symbolic): LANPLEX-SYSTEMS-MIB-1-2-2::lpsNetworkAnalyzerStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.114.1.4.12.1.1.4

Description: The status of the entry. Setting the value of a non-existent instance of this object to valid(1) attempts to add the corresponding entry to the table. The effect of adding an entry to the table is to configure the port for monitoring and to disable it for switching. Setting an existing instance of this object to invalid(2) attempts to remove the corresponding entry from the table. The effect of removing an entry from the table is to disable the port for monitoring and to make available for switching.

What is lpsNetworkAnalyzerStatus?

Controls whether an analyzer entry exists: setting a new instance to valid(1) adds it, configuring that port for monitoring and disabling it for normal switching, while setting an existing instance to invalid(2) removes it and returns the port to switching. An admin uses this to turn a spare port into a dedicated protocol-analyzer tap, and to release it back to normal service afterward.
