Category: LAN / Bridging & Switching

Description: Configures bridging options on LANoptics network hub modules.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LANOPTICS-BRIDGE-OPTION-MIB?

LANOPTICS-BRIDGE-OPTION-MIB is a legacy vendor MIB from LANoptics for configuring bridging options on their network hub modules, dating from the early era of Ethernet hub/bridge management. It exposes link-management-group (LMGR) style objects controlling bridge link identity and capture-control link parameters for the hub's bridging function. Its role in status monitoring is narrow, centered on bridge link identification and capture-control link configuration/state rather than broad hardware health telemetry. No specific dependency on other MIBs is evident from the limited available data. It would have been deployed in legacy LANoptics hub-based Ethernet network installations for managing bridging behavior between hub ports. Engineers can download the LANOPTICS-BRIDGE-OPTION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LANOPTICS-BRIDGE-OPTION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • LANoptics network hub module

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would check lanOpticsLMGRLinkID to identify which bridge link a hub module is associated with, and lanOpticsLMGRCaptCntrlLink to verify or adjust the capture-control link used for bridge diagnostics, detecting misconfiguration if a link ID does not match the expected bridge topology. Beyond these two named objects, no further sample objects were available to describe additional monitoring detail.

What Can Be Monitored

  • bridge link identifier
  • capture-control link configuration
