juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationPwd

Module: Juniper-ISIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): Juniper-ISIS-MIB::juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationPwd

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.38.1.2.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The value to be used as the Authentication Key in Level 1 Hello Packets whenever the value of juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationKeyType has a value of hmacMd5. A modification of juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationKeyType does not modify the juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationPwd value.

Reading this object always results in an OCTET STRING of length zero; authentication may not be bypassed by reading the MIB object.

What is juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationPwd?

Write-mostly octet string (0-20 bytes, default empty) holding the Level 1 Hello packet authentication key, used when juniIsisSysL1CircAuthenticationKeyType is hmacMd5; reading it always returns zero length so the key can't be extracted via SNMP. This protects the point-to-point/LAN hello exchange itself, distinct from the LSP-level area authentication password.
